Castlefield launches enhanced employee benefits package shaped by employee-owner feedback

By Nathan Cameron

Castlefield has launched an enhanced employee benefits package following an engagement survey and feedback programme involving colleagues across the business.

The refreshed employee values proposition (EVP) includes enhanced pension contributions, additional annual leave, group income protection and expanded wellbeing support.

The enhancements were developed following consultation with co-owners and have been designed to support employee wellbeing, career development and long-term engagement, while helping Castlefield attract and retain talent in a competitive market.

"As an employee-owned business, we believe the people who help shape Castlefield's success should have a genuine voice in shaping their experience at work.

Feedback from co-owners played a central role in shaping the programme. In Castlefield's latest internal engagement survey, 98% of employees agreed that their job provides purpose and benefit, 95% highlighted a strong spirit of cooperation across the business and 90% said they have the authority to make decisions they need to make in their roles.

The enhanced EVP is built around five core pillars which cover both financial and non-financial factors: people, rewards, opportunity, work and organisation. Together, these encompass financial remuneration, career development, wellbeing, purposeful work and employee ownership.

Castlefield Chief of Staff, Ewelina Niziolek-Wilson said: "As an employee-owned business, we believe the people who help shape Castlefield's success should have a genuine voice in shaping their experience at work.

"Through our engagement survey and follow-up conversations, co-owners told us what they value most and where we could do more to support them."

"The enhancements we've introduced reflect what matters most to them, from financial wellbeing and flexibility through to career development and recognition."

"We know that creating a great workplace isn't about one initiative or benefit. It's about building an environment where people feel valued, supported and connected to a shared purpose. This refreshed proposition is another important step in that journey."

The enhancements reflect growing recognition of the role the EVP plays in attracting and retaining talent. Research suggests organisations can experience significantly stronger employee engagement and a reduction in staff turnover by focusing on improvements in this area.

Castlefield became employee-owned in 2009 and all co-owners share in the long-term success of the business. Further details about Castlefield's co-owner benefits proposition can be found here.
