What the Company Does

Thermo Fisher Scientific is an American life sciences company. It is a world-leading provider of analytical equipment, reagents, software and services used for research, analysis, discovery and diagnostics. The company in its current form was created from a 2006 merger between Thermo Electron, founded in 1956 and Fisher Scientific, originally established in 1902.

Today, Thermo Fisher operates from over 600 offices around the world and employs over 120,000 people. The group has four divisions: Life Sciences Solutions, Analytical Instruments, Speciality Diagnostics and Laboratory Products & Services. 

Thermo Fisher is a geographically diversified business with revenues broadly aligning with centres of primary clinical, academic or industry research. End customers are overwhelmingly in the Life Sciences/Healthcare sub-sectors with some smaller exposure to the materials research sector which includes semiconductor and research into electric vehicles.
