What the Company Does

T-Mobile US (TMUS) is a provider of wireless telecommunications services, primarily mobile phones and high-speed internet to customers in the US. It serves postpaid (contract), prepaid (PAYG) and wholesale customers. The company sells its products and services under the T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile brand names.

Through its retail shops, it sells hardware such as smartphones, home broadband routers, wearables, tablets and other mobile devices and accessories from big names manufacturers such as Apple, Google, Motorola, Samsung, Alcatel and Beats.

TMUS is headquartered in Washington state and is still majority-owned by the German company Deutsche Telekom.

In the American market, TMUS competes with larger rivals AT&T and Verizon. Bringing know-how from Deutsche Telekom and sophisticated European telecoms markets, TMUS offers an alternative to the old-fashioned approach of these incumbents by listening to consumers and focusing on excellent customer service. This is proving to be a successful strategy.
