What the Company Does

Hannon Armstrong Sustainable Infrastructure Capital, better known as HASI, is an American investment company which invests in climate solutions, energy efficiency, renewable energy and other sustainable infrastructure markets.

Its areas of focus are: Behind the Meter; Grid Connection; Fuels, Transport & Nature and Climate Solutions. Behind the Meter refers to the energy systems located on the customer’s side of the utility meter, such as solar panels or battery storage.

HASI’s goal is to generate attractive returns from a diversified portfolio of projects with long-term, predictable cash flows generated by proven technologies that reduce carbon emissions or increase resilience to climate change. The company’s investments take many forms, including equity, joint ventures, land ownership, lending or other financing transactions.

In addition to net investment income from its portfolio of assets, HASI also generates ongoing fees through sales of developed assets, asset management and other services. The company was established in 1981.
