Genuit

Genuit is a market leader in energy-efficient building materials. Its growth strategy is based on improving the sustainability of buildings. In its Climate Management division, Genuit has developed new low-carbon heating and cooling technologies to improve the built environment. For example, if an old building like a church needs to re-lay its floor, highly efficient Polypipe underfloor heating can be installed with minimal effect on the beauty of the building but a positive impact on the comfort of users.

Sustainability targets are already part of executive and senior management remuneration and the Genuit board has also added a measurement of carbon reduction into the annual bonus arrangements for a bigger group of managers to ensure reward is fully aligned with strategic priorities.

Genuit faces supply chain risks related to raw materials, components and transport. Supply chains also carry social risks, including potential labour rights violations and unsafe working conditions. These issues could lead to reputational damage, regulatory penalties and disruption if suppliers fail to meet ethical standards.

Climate change presents a significant long-term risk for Genuit as well as an opportunity. Transition risks include tightening regulations on carbon emissions, energy efficiency, and materials, which could increase compliance costs and require operational changes.

Physical risks, such as extreme weather events, could disrupt manufacturing and logistics, impacting supply continuity and affecting production schedules and customer delivery. The opportunity for Genuit is in supplying more products which address the need for climate change mitigation.
