The Castlefield Charitable Fund supports positive social and environmental impact

The Fund will support charities in the Greater Manchester area providing a positive impact to the local community and environment in the following key focus areas: 

- Preventing homelessness 

- Support for vulnerable families and children (immediate need & education) 

- Health and wellbeing 

- Environment and sustainability 

The Fund will aim to focus its support on organisations that are working within the listed priority areas set out above and: 

- are embedded within the local community; 

- encourage community participation; 

- involve volunteers; 

- have been registered or active for a period of at least 3 years; 

- have a track record of delivery; and, 

- have an annual expenditure of no more than £1m. 

To receive funding from CCF, an organisation must be structured as a not-for-profit organisation, in the form of a registered charity or voluntary community group. 

Funding will not be considered for Community Interest Companies (CICs). 

The Castlefield Charitable Fund will not provide donations to charities or charitable organisations with significant campaigning or lobbying activities. Charitable activities linked to specific groups, such as religious organisations, must not be exclusionary and must provide benefits to the wider community. 

Charities or charitable organisations which are the beneficiaries of grants or donations made by CCF will be asked to provide a brief feedback statement regarding the uses and impact of the donation to their organisation in order to aid CCF’s reporting to its donors and stakeholders. 

We now welcome applications for cooperation with the CCF for the next year. Requests will be accepted until the 30th of September each calendar year. Typically, recipient charities will be assessed during the final quarter each year, with a shortlist presented to Castlefield Co-owners for a vote in January.

After a majority vote and successful year of working together in 2024, Castlefield co-owners chose The Booth Centre, a Manchester based charity tackling homelessness, as our charity to support for 2025. The Booth Centre would be recipients of our fundraising activities while also being awarded a grant from the Fund. 

The Booth Centre is a community centre run with people affected by homelessness. The Booth Centre provides a warm welcome, an opportunity to belong, to gain a purpose and rebuild lives. Its programme includes activities such as volunteering, creative projects and sports, as well as training and help to gain employment. The Booth Centre also supports people to improve health and wellbeing, to access emergency accommodation, and to secure and maintain a permanent home.
