Castlefield in the News - Summer 2026

By Nathan Cameron

It’s been a busy Summer for Castlefield, culminating in the move to a new office. This latest ‘In the news’ rounds-up some of the recent press coverage that Castlefield co-owners have contributed to or featured in, over the last few months.

As specialists in the field, we’re regularly invited to provide commentary or offer insight on a host of matters related to values-based investment and managing personal finances. You’ll see that Castlefield co-owners feature in a range of trade and consumer titles, such as NW Insider, Money Marketing, Professional Adviser, plus a Harvard Law School summary.

Alongside an awards win and recognition for our service, some of the topics covered include the gender ISA gap, collaborative engagement, excessive executive pay and “sustainable” investment funds continuing to invest in Russia.

Harvard Law School

Excessive executive pay remains a major concern for investors, particularly in the US where CEOs at the largest companies earn around 300 times the median worker.

We’re very proud that Castlefield’s corporate governance voting policy has been cited in a report by the US-based coalition of faith- and values-based investors, Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility (ICCR), on how investors are tackling the issue, and was also featured in a Harvard Law School Forum summary.

Professional Adviser

The gender ISA gap. When it comes to investing, many discussions about the gender gap focus on confidence, risk appetite or financial knowledge. But that doesn't present the whole picture.

Castlefield partner Olivia Bowen spoke with Professional Adviser about why the gender ISA gap is often shaped more by life circumstances than personal attitudes, particularly the caring responsibilities that continue to fall disproportionately on women.

In the article, Olivia explores how advisers can help clients navigate these challenges and play a vital role in closing the gap.

Professional Wealth Management

This is a sobering read from Professional Wealth Management (PWM), reporting on research from the University of Buckingham that shows some “sustainable” investment funds continued investing in Russia even as tanks rolled towards Ukraine’s border.

Head of Stewardship, Ita McMahon, explains how Castlefield actively engaged with global companies that had a presence in Russia at this time – providing investors with reassurance that firms were navigating the complex situation carefully by scaling back services and observing sanctions.

It’s a powerful reminder to understand what sits beneath the surface of a fund. As Ita notes, investors shouldn’t shy away from asking searching questions before they decide to invest.
