Join us at one of our charity focused thought‑leadership events designed to strengthen governance, improve financial decision‑making and support mission‑aligned leadership across your charity.

As part of this programme, we'll be delivering a series of in-person charity-focused events. These events are free to attend for those who are involved with the third-sector, and will take place at the following times and locations:

  • Tues 10th March (10:30 -12:30) – Glossop, Bradbury Community House
  • Tues 17th March (10:30 -12:30) - Newcastle-under-Lyme, New Vic Theatre
  • Thurs 19th March (14:30 - 16:30) – Ambleside, The Kelsick Centre

What we’ll be covering 

Ground rules for charitable trustees and common misconceptions - This session cuts through jargon and common misconceptions to give you a clear understanding of your legal duties, the principle of acting as a "prudent person", and what good decision‑making looks like in practice.  

Applying your values throughout your operations - Learn how to strengthen your charity’s values in real‑world operations, and how your charity’s mission and values can be embedded throughout your financial decisions, from selecting responsible suppliers to understanding the impact of your bank, pension provider and investment partners.  

The importance of time horizons in financial planning for charities - Explore the importance of time horizons in charity financial planning, including how to structure reserves, and understand how different financial products support short‑, medium‑ and long‑term goals. This session is especially useful for trustees involved in investment or long‑term planning.
