Please join us at our online event for charities & trustees: An Introduction to Responsible Investment

  • Date: Friday 04 March, 2022
  • Time: commences at 11:00am and ends at 12:30pm

Ethical investing has increased in importance over recent years as more investors seek to integrate environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors in their decision making. As a result, a number of similar definitions and acronyms exist confusing investors as they compete to demonstrate ESG credentials.

This session is specifically for charities (and their trustees) and aims to de-mystify the jargon surrounding responsible investing, explaining why it's important for charities and their investments. NB: Spaces are limited to a maximum of 12 delegates.

We'll introduce a number of ESG investment approaches, along with providing practical tips you can use to question whether investments are helping to combat ESG issues or if they may actually be contributing towards them.

Topics we will cover at this session

  • What we mean by ESG
  • Why it's important to charities
  • Regulatory factors
  • Types of ESG investing i.e. negative screens, best-in-class, sustainable funds, impact investing etc.
  • Stewardship
  • Voting and engagement
  • ESG investing and returns
  • Asset owners: their role in the ESG investment chain
  • Questions to ask your asset managers
