The event on 9 May 2023 is supported by the Lord Alliance Strategic Fund and hosted by the Accounting and Finance Division and the Centre for the Analysis of Investment Risk at the Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS).

Companies and investors face important choices when adapting to not only the potential physical risks of climate change but also policy risks associated with climate regulations.

The conference will feature industry and academic presentations and the keynote academic speaker is Prof Harrison Hong, Professor of Financial Economics at Columbia University in New York. David’s brief is to talk about ESG investing and then join a panel of speakers for a Q&A session.

David said: “I’m really looking forward to speaking to such a distinguished audience of academics from all over the world about all things ESG and about Castlefield’s commitment to Thoughtful Investing.

"Hopefully, I can offer a practitioner’s view of both the challenges and the opportunities we face when it comes to climate change and other aspects of sustainability.”

The conference is open to academics and practitioners interested in climate risk and finance and ESG in general, and will offer attendees the opportunities to debate strategic approaches and processes for mitigating the risk of climate change while navigating evolving regulatory challenges associated with more stringent climate and environmental policy. More information about the conference can be found on the University’s website here.
