Co-owner chosen charity for 2022 announcement

To kick start the new year, our Give Back Group needed to determine which organisation/s to support this year. Castlefield has long been a proud benefactor of Burdens’ Charitable Foundation (BCF) and the La Renaissance school in Burkina Faso. They will continue to be a meaningful part of our charity and fundraising activities. The group also facilitates the nomination of a secondary charity each year, chosen by co-owners themselves. This year, the group presented a shortlist of charities for co-owners to vote for based on nominees put forward by various co-owners. Based on 44 votes and a clear majority, we are pleased to announce that Castlefield’s next co-owner chosen charity for 2022 will be the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity (RMCH). 50% of funds raised in 2022 will be donated to RMCH, and the remaining 50% will be donated to BCF.

Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity aims to raise funds to enhance the services provided by the hospital to over 280,000 patients who pass through its doors every year.  The hospital is the largest single-site children’s hospital in the UK, providing world class care for children from across the North West and beyond.

The Charity has three main areas of work:

  • to provide state-of-the-art equipment for diagnosis and treatment
  • to support research projects to improve our understanding of childhood illnesses
  • to help to create an environment that’s more friendly and welcoming to young patients and their families

In addition to our partnership announcement, the group also welcomed Lucy Conboy in January. We’re hopeful that an additional member will help us ramp up extra fundraising activities this year.
