David & Hope finish Bupa Great Manchester Run

Last bank holiday Sunday (26th May 2013), two of Castlefield and Gaeia’s graduate trainees took part in the Great Manchester Run (10k) for Bupa. The run had a massive 40,000 participants all running for different charities, and live music, charity stands and stalls lined the route.   Hope Nelson, 22, Trainee Financial Planner at Gaeia finished the race in one hour, and was running to raise funds for St Ann’s Hospice, based in Cheadle Heath. Hope volunteers at St Ann’s and managed to raise over £300 for their cause (www.justgiving.co.uk/Hope-Nelson). St Ann’s need £16,000 a day to keep treating people and are not funded by the NHS. Since the recession their donations have been down despite the fact they treat over 3000 people across Greater Manchester every year, and is one of the countries largest hospices.   Over on the investment management side of the business, Trainee Investment Manager David Elton, 25, ran the race for The Message Trust. He completed the race in 50 minutes and came 5321st.               SGHNBlog/190613
