Castlefield Give Back Group helps to raise over £7500 for charity

By Tara Lawford

In this piece we reflect on the achievements of Castlefield's charity Give Back Group and the fundraising activities co-owners participated in to raise over £7,500.

We’d like to take a moment to reflect on the remarkable achievements of the Give Back Group (GBG) over 2023. We extend our deepest gratitude to all Co-owners who have been instrumental in our shared philanthropic journey. Throughout the year, our collective efforts have been highlighted by a series of engaging events that showcased the dedication and enthusiasm of Castlefield Co-owners.

The group organised spirited competitions such as a Pancake Flipping Contest and Bake-off, as well as challenges such as the Great Manchester Run, the Activity Challenge, and the Cycle Challenge. These events not only fostered camaraderie, but also raised significant funds for our causes.

Our standout accomplishments were the Great Manchester Run, where our team of seven runners raised an impressive £605. Also, the Big Castlefield Cycle Challenge which raised an additional £731 as we virtually cycled from Manchester to Paris and back again. These achievements not only demonstrate our commitment but also rekindled an office buzz reminiscent of pre-lockdown times.

Together, our fundraising amounted to an impressive sum of £2,368. These contributions have gone towards supporting our 2023 selected charities—Booth Centre, Walthew House, Greater Manchester Youth Network, and Emerge. Additionally, with the Castlefield Charitable Fund's grants and matching scheme, we have collectively donated a fantastic £7,708!

As we embark on the journey of 2024, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all Co-owners who participated, donated, ran, quizzed, cycled, and baked. Your support has been invaluable, and it is because of them that we are able to make a positive difference in the lives of others. Here's to another year of creating meaningful impact together.
