Castlefield Give Back Group's Festive Fundraising Bonanza

By Tara Lawford

In the spirit of festive giving, the Castlefield Give Back Group (GBG) have organised a bumper series of events leading up to Christmas, all aimed at raising funds for our chosen charities. The exciting lineup of activities aims to engage Co-owners and make a positive impact in the community. Here's a brief summary of events:

Christmas Raffle

The GBG kicks off the festivities with a classic Christmas raffle featuring exciting prizes, from couples experiences to tech gadgets. Co-owners can obtain raffle tickets through various means, either by buying them or earning them through participating in some of the other upcoming events.

End of Bake Off Bake Off

At the end of November the group put on a sweet celebration to mark the end of the popular TV show Great British Bake Off. Co-owners were encouraged to showcase their baking prowess by entering either (or both) the showstopper and signature brownie challenge, with the added incentive of earning raffle tickets for contributing or winning the bake-off.

Christmas Card Making

Co-owners get to unleash their creativity in the GBG's festive Christmas card-making workshop led by our resident artist and Business Support Assistant, Anita. This is a delightful opportunity to craft unique, handmade cards and share the joy of the season.

 Christmas Jumper Week

In the week leading up to our Christmas party, Co-owners are invited to dust off their festive attire and contribute to the charity pot, by donning Christmas jumpers, t-shirts, dresses, or suits. Prizes are on offer, with participants submitting photos to stand a chance of winning coveted raffle tickets.

Food Traditions Festive Feast

The Castlefield team is comprised of many different nationalities, dialects and cultures. We’ll be celebrating some of the global flavours by sharing traditional foods and crafts from our Co-owner’s diverse cultures and countries. Co-owners contributing to this festive feast will be rewarded with raffle tickets, adding a flavourful touch to the fundraising efforts.

Secret Santa

Is it even Christmas in the office without a Secret Santa gift exchange? Rather than wasting money on unwanted or unnecessary tat, Co-owners can opt to donate to the charity pot instead of buying a traditional gift.

Food Bank

To make a tangible impact on the community, the GBG are collecting food for a donation drive in the office. Co-owners contributions will be donated to the Booth Centre, supporting those in need during the holiday season.

Annual Pub Quiz

Co-owners recently engaged in an evening of highbrow general knowledge with Dave Gorman taking up his regular quizmaster role during the annual Pub Quiz. Ticket fees contributed towards the charity pot, with all participants having the chance to earn valuable raffle tickets.

As the Castlefield Give Back Group ushers in the holiday season, Co-owners are encouraged to participate in these events, fostering a sense of community and collective giving for a charitable cause.
